Color, texture, line, and form come together piece by piece in the work of mosaic artist Lorraine Meade. From the intricate details in her smallest piece of wearable mosaics to the 40-foot long mosaic wave adorning the walls of the University of Richmond’s Heilman Dining Center, Lorraine’s art reveals curiosity, whimsy, and beauty.
In addition to using traditional elements, Lorraine infuses colorful stained glass, dichroic glass, beads, buttons, shells, mirrors, and more. Her playful side appears in works using Scrabble tiles, Dominoes, and other game pieces. Articles describing her award-winning work have appeared in Southern Living, Richmond Magazine, and River City Magazine.
Lorraine’s mosaic pieces are available at Crossroads Art Center, in Richmond’s West End, and at local art shows. Sign up here or connect through facebook to learn of upcoming shows.
